Project status plus something interesting

While surfing the web, something caught my eye.

Its called the Xybernaut Poma.

Xybernaut was a company that created novelty wearable computers in the early 2000s, but went bankrupt, and recently came back as a seller of industry-level computers.  Nothing special.

The Poma debuted in 2003.  It runs Windows CE, an embedded operating system that actually had a desktop!  The desktop was displayed on a head-mounted 800x600 setup.  Besides the small UMPC, which ranged in power somewhere between a PDA and netbook, the apparatus also included a handheld mousepad.

The Poma is in many ways similar to Perspective.

It has the same form-factor, for the most part.  The prototype design for Perspective does not have a mousepad, and the display setup has stereo earbuds, a transparent display, a small camera, and accelerometers.

As far as power goes, this is about what is needed.  The Poma will most likely be the model we work off of.

IF WE HAD FUNDING.

Until funding is gained, Perspective's research will be slow and limited.  A paypal will be oppened up with the alpha launch of akuminlinux, as we work from the same resource pool.

Please stay tuned in!
